Maracana Stadium

The Maracana Stadium, officially named Est?dio Jornalista M?rio Filho, is one of the most legendary football stadiums in the world. Originally built for the 1950 FIFA World Cup, it was once the largest stadium on Earth, capable of holding over 200,000 spectators.
It's hosted some of football?s most historic moments, including the infamous 1950 World Cup final between Brazil and Uruguay ("Maracanazo"), and major events like the 2014 World Cup final and the 2016 Olympic Games.
The Maracana has undergone several renovations to improve safety, comfort, and sustainability, while still maintaining its iconic status in global football culture.
