M.A Chidambaram Stadium is a famous cricketing venue located at Chennai. It is one of the well known batting friendly wickets in India. This stadium was established as Madras Cricket Club Ground in 1916. Later it was re-named after former President of BCCI M.A Chidambaram. This is also the home of Indian Premier League (IPL) outfit Chennai Super Kings and is commonly known as the Lion’s Den among the CSK fans.
MAC was constructed by Hopkins Architects, London. Anna Pavilion and V Pattabhiraman Gate End are the two ends of this cricket ground. First test match was played on 10 February 1934 between India and England. First ODI match was played on 09 October 1987 between India and Australia.
