The Men's Doubles tennis competition at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing was held from August 10 to August 16 at the Olympic Green Tennis Centre.The gold awarded to singles specialists Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka was the first medal for Switzerland in this event.However, only three days later, this record was eclipsed by Roger Federer and Juan Martín del Potro on 3 August 2012 in a semi-final tie that lasted 4 hours 26 minutes, ending at 19–17.Great Britain's Andy Murray defeated Federer in the final, 6–2, 6–1, 6–4, to win the gold medal.
